W e investigated the relative levels and affinity constants of specific IgG, IgM and IgG subclasses in mouse sera detected w ith ELIS , andmouse splenic cell proliferation measured w ith MTT in vivo after themouse was mi mu nized w ith various ionicpolysaccharides respectively. Comparedw ith neutralpolysaccharides, zw itteri onicpolysaccharides could stmi ulate the expression of IgG antibody in mi mune system and promote splenic cells proliferation in a higher leve.l Zw itterionic polysaccharides expressed a smi ilar mi mune response as glycoprotein, andm ight induce antibody gene rearrangem ent and isolate sw itch in B lym phatic cells.
