Oneof the wheels contains 3% Cowhile the other one doesn. t. Grinding expermi ents w ith these twowheels on granite were carried out under different grinding conditions. Grinding forces weremeasured and the worn pattern of diamondwheelswas observed. Evaluation on their grinding performanceswas based on the results of the grinding forces, the ratio of vertical grinding force and horizontal grinding force (Fz /Fx ), the specific energy, the increment of the specific energy after a certain amount of granite were grinded, aswellas the topographies of theground wheels. Expermi ental results revealed that the grinding forces, the ratio ofFz /Fx and the specific energy ofwheel Ò w ith 3% Co are smaller than that ofwheelÑ w ithout Co.
