Abs tract: In light of the approxmi ation ofMusk ingum flood calcu lation mode,l an mi proving model on average flow
w ith in prescribed tmi e in flood calculation is presented using curve integral instead of general arithmetic mean. By
mak ing use of the ant colony algorithm in the continuous space optmi ization problems, the flood calcu lation problem
of parameter estmi ation of mi proved Musk ingum routing model is solved. The resu lts of the computer smi u lation
show that the mi provedMusk ingum routing model is valid and practical, and it is su itable for solving the flood ca-l
culation problems.
