My name is... I’d like you to meet... 教 学 设 计 教学环节 教师活动安排与建议 （一）Warming-up Listen to a song related to the topic of “college life”. By listening to the song, students are getting to know the theme of the unit. The song “Start of Something New”, presented in PPT, is the theme song of High school musical. （二）Telling Apart Help students practice the pronunciation of the phonetic sounds: /i/, //, /e/, /p/, /b/, /f/. Read the proverbs and sayings and practice the tongue twister. Play the recording and ask students to read aloud. Correct their pronunciation when necessary. For more exercises, please see Optional exercises in Teacher’s Book. （三）Testing Your Ears Read new words, phrases and expressions. Listening exercises: simple sentences and short conversations. Watch a Video titled “Columbia College”. Explain each new word or phrase with examples which have presented in PPT. When doing exercises, tell students to read the four choices in advance；pa attention to the importance of grammatical coherence. Watch a Video and try to answer the following questions presented in PPT. （四）Opening Your Mouth Read new words, phrases and expressions. Reading exercises: 6 short conversations and 2 longer ones. Act out and make conversations based on the situations given in the unit. Explain each new word or phrase with examples. Play the record
