The investigation of students’ state Students have learnt many verbs in past tense before. They can talk about the things in past tense. They know some names of jobs. Unit 1 She was a driver before. (Period 1) Teaching aims Teaching key points and difficulties My grandma was a driver before. What did she do before? She drove a bus. Teaching aids CAI, some pictures. Teaching procedure Step 1 Warming up 1. Greetings. Step2. Lead in Show some pictures of familiar persons, ask and answer(first, let the students to talk about them freely), then: T: Who’s she? Ss: She is Ms Zhao. T: What was she before? Ss: She was a student. T: What is she now? Ss: She is a teacher. T:What does she teach? Ss: She teaches English. 3.Practice the sentence patterns by using some other pictures. Step3:Practice Show some pictures, ask the students to talk about them freely.
