* Leukemia is a form of cancer that begins in the blood cells in bone marrow. Under normal circumstance, the blood in mammalian species includes a number of different cell types essential for survival. Erythrocytes transport oxygen. Neutroplil, basophil,esonophil granulocytes and monocytes are essential to host defense against bacteria,fungi, parasites and viruses. T-lymphocytes function as antigen presenting cells. B-lymphocytes and plasma cells are the source of antibodies. All these cell types are called mature hematopoietic cells and derived ultimately from stem cells and progenitors
