Finals Review English Test December 2013 Instructions: You have to prepare a role-play for one of the topics we have looked at this term. You can do whatever you like but try and do something that shows off your skills in English, and be sensible about your choices – don’t do something that will make you laugh a lot. You will not be allowed to bring notes, so don’t make it too complicated for you to remember. Try and all speak for the same amount of time and keep the conversation moving – try not to have any long silences, though a short break to think for a moment about your next line is fine. Use your workbooks to look at the vocabulary and phrases used in the topic and to come up with ideas for role-plays. Grading: This is what I will be grading you on:Content – Talk about the topicVocabulary – Use words and phrases we learned in classFluency – Keep the conversation moving, with no long pausesSpeaking Time – Everyone speak for the same amount of time, and time your role-play to make sure it is not too long or too short! *There is a sample of the sheet I will be using to mark you on the last page. Your Speaking Exam: Choose your group (around 3 to 4 students per group). Choose your topic (1 topic per group). You will have time in the next two weeks to prepare before the exam, but do not bring notes on the day. I will watch and grade you. Each group will be able to volunteer or I will choose at random to see who performs first (5 minutes per group). You are to type on the computer your role play and hand in with the name and student number for each group member, on the day of exams.
