Lead in the new lesson. (1).Show the pictures of Yao Ming to the students 【百度图片】姚明的两张图片 /sakuya/photo/p1384079.html /pic/f428d0bf/1a988a.gif (2).Ask: Do you know who he is? What does he do? Do you like watching his basketball matches? Do you know when basketball was invented? (3).Write the title of the text on the blackboard and then learn the text. Step 2.Students skim the text and answer the question: When was basketball invented? Step 3. Students scan the text and match the main idea with each paragraph.
