First, she started a restaurant, Helen’s Place. Though it was popular and did a steady business, Aunt Helen knew little about managing money, so her restaurant went out of business. (第一次失败) Then she tried to open a café, but there were already many popular cafes in her town, so her café never managed to attract many customers. (第二次失败) Finally, suing knowledge she had gained from earlier business (重要过渡), she started her own catering service. It has been a success for ten years now. (第三次成功) Instead of being discouraged by her previous failure in business, Aunt Helen learned from them and succeeded in her third try on catering service. For her, failure was simply part of the journey that led her eventually to success. ;Example 2; The fact that unfavorable situations can turn into auspicious ones is seen in a variety of sources. Take Lance Armstrong as an example. He was once forced to face a nearly fatal cancer which was no doubt a horrific matter to his family, his friends and himself. In common views, infected with such a serious disease, Armstrong would certainly withdraw from his career as a prominent cyclist. (困境) Nevertheless, with the strong and adamant desire to continue his occupation and win the triumph over the seeming fatal illness, Armstrong eventually recovered and obtained significant success --- he gained the unprecedented seven straight victories in Tour de France.
