A cover letter is a letter of introduction to an employer, which is used to formally submit a resume for employer review. The purpose of the cover letter is to identify your intent to apply for or seek out a specific position. Task 1: group work A :Suppose you were a company HR manager responsible for the recruitment of new employees, what kinds of cover letter could be impressive and job-wining ? B: Suppose you were a job applicant, what kinds of cover letters would be impressive and job-winning? Tips on writing a good cover letter Content: 1. Make each letter specific to the job. 2. Indicate the position for which you are applying. 3. Keep to one page. 4. Highlight relevant skills, experience, education and accomplishments as they relate to the specific job 5. Sign your name. 6. Close letter with information on where and when you can be reached. 7. Include the person?ˉs full name, title, company name, and company address. 8.Include your full name, address, and contact information. Language: 1. short, concise and clear 2. use standard English and do not use slangs or abbreviations 3. use formal addressing, such as Mr. ?- 4. double-check your spelling and grammar. How to write a cover letter - Paragraph 1: present and explain the aim of the cover letter. - Paragraph 2: why you are interested in the company that you are writing to, in this very industry and in this particular position. - Paragraph 3: what you contribute (achievements, experience); abilities and capacities that you will use to carry the position’s functions. The order of paragraphs two and three can vary based on how you want to write the cover letter - Paragraph 4: invitation to the interview. Be creative when finishing the letter; do not use the expression I wait for your call. Mention that you can call to arrange an appointment or meeting, not an interview. - Warm
