Lesson 18 From Window in the Sea（The absorbing story of sea life in a great outdoor aquarium) Dolphin vs. Porpoise Porpoises --- from the Phocoenidae species （鼠海豚科）; Dolphins--- from delphinidae（海豚科）. Porpoise are quite smaller in size as compared to dolphins but are chubbier(胖乎乎，圆圆的）.  Dorsal fins（背鳍）: Porpoises have triangle fin. The dolphin’s dorsal fin is shaped like a wave.Dolphin’s nose is a pointed(尖的) beak while porpoise has a shorter but rounded nose. The teeth of the dolphin are sharper cone-shaped（锥形的） while the teeth of the porpoise are flat and looked like a spatula [‘sp?tjul?]小铲 .  Behaviors: Dolphins are sociable. They love interacting with humans. The porpoises are quite shy. They do not really interact with other creatures. Porpoise do not also use under the sea whistle communications. Dolphins on the other hand, use their blow holes to communicate underwater.
