RESEARCH ON HOME LITERACY I、NVIR ONMENT 0F 3.6.YEAR.0LD CHILDREN ABSTRACT The family is the first environment for children to grow up,and home literacy environment plays an inestimable role on childrens development.Home literacy on early childhood refers to children engage in literacy—related activities with parents or grandparents at home.The research contained 450 families from the southwest of Zhejiang which kids were 3 to 6 years old.Based on home literacy environment,the research combined the questionnaire survey on home literacy environment with the case study in different quality families of home literacy environment to be sure about environment dimension and analysis the problems existing in the current situation of home literacy environment,which c趾be represented by some southwest areas of Zhejiang.By comparing the parents’guide way and ideas of reading,the research is exploring the path of improving the quality of home literacy environment.The conclusions are aS follows:(1)Parents who are in hi曲education background or teachers would have higll quality of literacy environment at home.It means that parents of these kinds pay more attention to building a convenient literacy environment;(2)Parents in 3 1—35 years old have achieved a dominant position in ‘the Reading Attitude and Behavior’,‘the Strategy of Reading Guidance’,‘the Variety of Reading Resources at Home’.It reminds that parents at this age stage are mature in mind and optimal in material accessibility:(3)Compared with fathers in parent—child reading,moth.s gave more guidance to children;(4)What the children need at different stage are significantly different.It indicates that during forming good reading habits,the parents and teachers need to know much better on development of children,and afford them the appropriate help;(5)Parents who have different background may have consistent in choosing reading material.
