Abstract Under the circumstances of the unceasing deepening process of trade liberalization and global integration,as well as the continuous reduction of tariffs and traditional non-tariff barriers,the technical barriers to trade has become a major form of international trade barriers，which impacts all countries，especially developing countries．As the largest developing COuntry,China had more than 25％of its exports affected by the technical barriers to trade every year．According to the survey by the Ministry of Commerce，in China,90％of agricultural and food export enterprises have been affected by the foreign technical barriers to trade，which caused a loss of about 9 billion U．S．dollars every year．Technical barriers to trade have become the major obstacle to food export in China． In view of the major impact caused by the technical barriers to trade on Chinas food industry,taking the food industry as the po硫cut,this thesis studies and analyzes the impact of technical barriers to trade by the method of the theory and practical cases．At last,the strategies of solution are suggested． The thesis begins、砘th chapter 1．By describing and analyzing the’n≥T’S current status against food export of China,it points out the main idea,the矗anae and the meaning of the study．Clarification of innovafions and shortcoming are also included． Chapter two gives a review of domestic and foreign literature．It introduces and analyses the theoretical and empirical methodology of TBT studies bo也at home and abroad．The third chapter firstly analyzes the mechanisms and economic effects of technical barriers to trade base on relmed concepts of TBT．And then it mainly analyses the status of how the United States,Japan and European Union implement 11BT using regulations and standards against food industry．On the basis of the analysis of the content and reason,the impact of TBT on food export in China is analyzed through representative cases in chapter four．Chapter five is the ending part of the thesis．It
