It is important that the product be powered on, functionally tested, and monitored throughout the HALT process. Start with cold step stress (least damaging). Begin at ambient and step in 10 deg C steps. Soak at step for 10 min and then run functional tests, if pass step to next level. Continue process until operating and destruct limits are found. Also during process apply product specific stresses such as power cycling, cold start, voltage variation…. Next is hot step stress and do same as with cold.
