2）The camshaft is a rotating shaft that has lobes ,called cams,opening and closing the intake and exhaust valves in time with the motion of the pistion.When the cam pushes against the lifter ,the lifter in turn pushes the valve open。 （3）When the cam rotates away from the lifter,the valve is closed by a spring that is attached to the valve.The camshaft must be synchronized with the crankshaft so that it makes one revolution for every two revlutions of the crankshaft .This is a critical job,and can have a great impact on an engine,s performance at different speeds. （4）Valve are usually made fo
