Abstract The correctional work is a very important fashion in the justice in China。We have attacked a great importance to it and made some achievements．But we also meet loss because of being short of the physical skills for the correctional police．For improving the combat capacity of the p01ice，this article will have detailed analysis and investigations to the problems of the present．By putting forward an investigation of physical skills of the correctional pot ice， we have grasped the status of the correctional police’s physical skills，working environment and features．(We think)This article is very significant in improving the physical skills of prison police，stabilizing the prison environment．By interviewing the wardens of prisons and making use of questionnaires of 800 prison polices from 9 prisons or house of correct ion， we have done some investigations and some researching work in the field of the application of such physical skills for police as wrestling，shooting，the application of police appiiances，driving，preventing the riot of the inmates． Then some suggest ions have been put forward by analyz ing the investigation results．We have been searching for the reason why the p01ice’s injury or death rate is so high base on the police’s appliance of physical skills．According to the features of the correcting work and for the goal of making the appliance of police’s physical skills better．We put forward some suggestions in how to formulate working policy，education policy and training program． Key words prison，correction，physical skill of police，applied skill， suggest ions，china 4 1．前言 本文所研究的监狱、劳教单位人民警察，是中国人民警察的一个警 种，是中华人民共和国警察队伍中的组成部分之一。根据《监狱法》规 定，监狱人民警察的概念应表述为：监狱人民警察是指在监狱为惩罚和 改造罪犯而进行管理工作的人员。监狱人民警察是人民警察序列中的一 个警种，是人民民主专政工具的重要组成部分∞。监狱人民警察的管理 职权是对狱内行政管理权，其管理的对象仅限于罪犯、监狱的警戒设施、 监狱的警具和武器等，监狱往往是对重刑罪犯进行关押改造；劳教(“劳 动教养”的简称)则是国家法定机关依法对有违法和轻微犯罪行为、不 足以刑事处罚的人实行强制性教育改造的行政处罚措施。劳教单位人民 警察就是在劳动教养单位从事管理、教育、生产和机关事务并担任人民 警察职务的人员，是负责劳教人员改造的警察圆。 监狱、劳教单位人民警察在监狱、劳教事务管理和罪犯改造上发挥 着不可代替的作用。一方面他
