Good afternoon, everybody. My topic is First Impression taken from unit3, book5 in New Senior English. My talk consists of four parts.
Part1 The?Analysis?of?the?Material
Status?and?Function:
The title of the reading is First Impression, which plays a very important part in English teaching of this?unit.?This?passage?is a spacemail written by Li Qiang about his exciting and unforgettable tour in the year AD3008. By learning this lesson, the students can not only imagine what the future will be like, but also learn how to use some important words, phrase and sentence patterns. What’s more, the students can practice their reading skills, such as skimming, scanning and careful reading.
2. Teaching Aims
a. knowledge aims:
To learn how to use the mastery words, phrases and sentence patterns;
To learn something about the future life.
b. Ability aims:
To cultivate the students’ autonomous learning ability, cooperative learning ability.
To develop students’ reading skills, such as making prediction and drawing inferences from the context.
c. Emotional aims:
To encourage the students to participate in the class activities and cultivate their teamwork spirit.
To reinforce the sense of environment protection.
3. Key Points and Difficult Points
To learn how to use the mastery words, phrases and sentence patterns.
To develop the students’ reading skills, such as making prediction and drawing inferences from the context.
4. Teaching Aids: Muti-media computer, tape recorder
Part2 Teaching Method According to the analysis above, I’ll analyze the text with questions, tables, retelling job and summary. So I mainly use the Communicative Method and Task-based Method.
Part3 Preparations before Class
Ask the students to preview the lesson and prepare some information.
Imagine the difference between the life at present and in the future.
Make a list the problems human beings are facing today.
