This simulator includes a dynamic model with a normal state and some abnormal states and a safety logic model. These models are described with a state transition model. This report outlines this simulator, and we show its effectiveness by comparing the simulators results with experimental results. KEY WORDS Safety System, Elevator, Simulator, State Transition Model 1. INTRODUCTION We developed a simulator to evaluate safety of an elevator. There are some simulators which simulate the dynamics of an elevator [1] [2]. These have a model that shows when the elevator is normal or has a specific error. There are no simulators which can simulate the state transition of an elevator. A transition of the dynamic characteristics of an elevator according to the operation of the safety logic has a high level of influence in terms of elevator safety. To accurately evaluate safety of an elevator, we need a simulator that can continuously and precisely simulate the state transitions of a running elevator. Therefore, we developed a simulator that combines a safety logic simulation model and a dynamic simulation model, which expresses the consecutive transitions of states of the elevator.
