Noun (名词) 1.1 Classes of N :countable vs uncountable (名词的种类：可数名词与不可数名词) 可数名词前可用each, either, neither, another, these, those, both, (a) few, several, many, a great / good many, a large number of, scores of, dozens of等修饰，但不可数名词前不可用这些修饰语，而不可数名词前可用(a) little, much, a bit of, a great deal of, a large amount of等修饰，但可数名前不能用这些词修饰；不过，可数名词和不可数名词前均可用some, any, half, most, all, a lot of, lots of, plenty of, a large quantity of, quantities of等修饰。 特别说明：有些不可数名的用法的用法值得注意，无论在什么情况下也没有复数形式的，即使受形容词修饰也不能加不定冠词的。如advice, fun, homework, information, news, progress, equipment, furniture, baggage / luggage, jewellery, clothing等。 1.5 Genitive case of N (名词的所有格) ③表示时间、距离、金额、天体、国家或城市等的名词也用-’s表示。如： It’s less than two hours’ drive from here.开车到那里不到2个钟头。 We visited some of the city’s scenic spots.我们参观了这座城市的一些风景区。 –’s和of双重表示 当被修饰的名词前有指示代词、疑问代词、不定代词或数词等限定词时，用双重所有格。如： Two friends of my father’s came to see me.我父亲的两个朋友来看我You are certain to be happy with any relative of Mrs. Moore’s.你和穆尔夫人的任何亲属在一起肯定是会很快乐的。 a great / good many, a large number of (=many) a great deal of, a large amount of (=much) a wide range of 大范围的 for the purpose of 为了……目的 on ones own(=by oneself) 独自 in person 亲自地 a sense of duty/direction/security 责任感/方向感/安全感 out of breath 气喘吁吁 get rid of =dispose of 抛弃，丢弃 a new technique for ……的新技术 has a great influence on 对……有重大影响 an important means of communication交流的重要方式 do harm to对……有害 cause a serious damage to 对……造成严重损伤 make progress 取得进步 in this way 用这种方式 get a good income 有不错的收入 take sth. into account/consideration 把……考虑在内 (sth.) go into effect 生效 carry sth.
