Unit 2 Culture What kind of culture do they represent respectively? Pre-reading Q1: Why did the author visit Russia? He was in Russia to provide some technical assistance in the area of agricultural labor management . Q2: How did the author realize that he had made a cultural blunder? He was politely corrected by a Russian during his third visit. Q3: Why did Yiena not decline his offer of banana? We can understand other cultures through concrete and alive experience instead of generalization. Q5: What do the cultural differences listed in the passage suggest? Part II (Paras8-12) The author cites some examples of cultural differences to illustrate the theme of the articles.
