User Guide: Taiwan Electronic Periodical Services TEPS “臺灣電子期刊服務網”使用指南 INTRODUCTION Taiwan Electronic Periodical Services TEPS is an on-line database which offers the largest number of full-text Taiwanese periodicals in the world. On April of 2008, TEPS contains more than 750 Taiwanese periodicals, covering Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Applied Sciences, and Medical and Life Sciences. Additional titles are added regularly. Through the Internet, TEPS provides you fast, convenient and far-reaching services which allow you to easily search, browse, and print articles in Taiwanese periodicals online. For better search result, users have to search in Chinese. ACCESS /teps/ University of California users have access to the database and can download the article on workstation only within the authorized IP range s . MAIN FUNCTIONS TEPS’ homepage presents users the following main functions: Browse Journals 主題瀏覽 By clicking “Browse Journals 主題瀏覽”, users can quickly view journals by “Subjects 學科別” in Humanities 人文學, Social Sciences 社會科學, Natural Sciences 自然科學, Applied Science 應用科學, and Medical and Life Sciences 醫學與生命科學. Users can also view journals by “Publisher出版機構” and “Number strokes of first title word 刊名筆劃”. Quick Search 快速查詢 Users can type in the Chinese terms in search box, then, select “Articles 文章” to search for article title, author, and keywords, or, select “Journals 期刊” to search for journal title and publisher. Advance Search 進階查詢 In this part, you can choose to search by “Find Articles 查詢文章” or “Find Journals 查詢期刊”.
