Students analysis Stimulate students’ curiosity and interest about senior high school life, help them better adjust to the new life and cherish it. Ⅱ Teaching Aims a Knowledge aims ① Students could master some key words and expressions related to school facilities and school life. ② After learning the text, students could know what school life in the UK is really like. b Ability Aims ① Improve students’ reading ability. ② After learning, students could apply these two basic reading skills of skimming and scanning in the process of reading. Emotion Aims Stimulate students’ curiosity and interest about senior high school life, help them better adjust to the new life and cherish it. Ⅲ Teaching Important Difficult Points Help students comprehend the passage and improve their reading ability such as guessing the meaning of new words from the context apart from skimming and scanning. Ⅳ Teaching Methods Task-based activity / question-answer activity / individual work / group work Ⅴ Teaching Aids Computer / blackboard / tape-recorder / chalk Ⅵ Teaching Procedures Step 1 Warm-up activity Greet the whole class warmly. And ask them: “What kind of life you are leading now?” Senior High School life. Step 2 Lead-in Get students to the lesson by showing a picture on PPT. Ask them: What is the picture about?
