The thesis attempts to explore the overall situation of junior-three students’ English vocabulary learning in Wuxi Middle School. Questionnaire is adopted in the research and 33 junior-three students of Wuxi Middle School are involved in the investigation. The data reveal the following findings. Firstly, most students considered vocabulary learning is a monotonous, mechanical task. Secondly, vocabulary learning strategies used by junior students are very
