Module 3 Book 2 Vocabulary By Shawna Teaching Design Description of Teaching Materials There are 26 words, including 16 nouns, 5 adjectives and 3 verbs. They are related to music. Creative Points There are three creative points in my class. The first one is that I help students to go through new vocabulary by giving the strategy of memorization. Also I lead them to find useful expressions instead of giving them. Last, I conduct a guessing game within time limits to oral practice their ability.? Description of Students Students come from Class 15, Grade 1. There are 60 students in this class. Most of them can tell the difference between nouns, verbs and adjectives. They also know a little bit about how to describe a person. Teaching and Learning Aims 1 knowledge and ability goal: learn the words and master the usage 2 process and method: learn to learn, group cooperation, group competition 3 affective goal: through the experience from great musician, learn spirits from them Teaching Focuses Students can memorize the spellings, meanings, pronunciations of words and also use those words into context. Teaching difficulties Students can use those words to describe a Chinese musician within correct forms. Teaching and Learning Approaches Situational Approach Communicative Approach Teaching Aids Computer, Projector, PowerPoint documents, chalks Teaching procedures: Section Teaching procedure Teacher activities Students activities Teaching goal Part I: Learning the Vocabulary 10 minutes Step I: Introduce the vocabulary Introduce the vocabulary through video tape, questions and interaction between students. Follow the lesson and answer questions from teacher. Setting the situation. Step II: Memorization strategy-Association Introduce association through a piece of music, video and pictures. Students are going to have 3 minutes to memorize the vocabulary by using the strategy Students’ internalizations. Part II: Checking the Vocabulary 5 minutes Step I:
