It is designed to help students think strategically about social functions of the English language in business settings. Some basic concepts of business communication will be introduced. The main contents will cover business writing basics (including style, tone, and readability), formats of business writings, business telephoning, company activity description, inquiry and goodwill communications. Teaching Approach The class sessions will mainly employ a lecture-discussion format combined with other in-class activities to practice and sharpen students’ English skills. This requires that the students should have a high degree of involvement in classroom activities.
