They are vivid and humour, which they are the typical examples of aesthetic rhetoric and represents treasure of English language. They are the wisdom of English people. Using rhetoric is an important reason why the English proverbs are charming. Among them, the tropes are the most common rhetoric. Therefore, I analyze the tropes in English proverbs in this paper.
