Literature Review on the topic of Supply Chain Technologies 1. Introduction In this day and age, it is standard practice for business executives to take advantage of advanced technologies considering high efficiency and the interactivity of internet to enable a multitude of requirements needed to be transacted and the role of technology can be played successfully within supply chain . This sweeping trend of going about everyday business activities in the virtual and real world has triggered a marked influence on the emergence of supply chain technologies. Since the advent of information era, many kinds of technologies have assumed on increasingly pivotal role in our lives, certainly including supply chain technologies. The purpose of this report is to present the current state of supply chain technologies and to discuss the role of technology in modern supply chains within the supply chain field. By examining the recently published journals on the topic of supply chain technologies, this report mainly describe the main types of technologies in common use today and examines the performances and potential benefits they can bring in relation to business operations. . 2. Discussion In contemporary society, it is universally acknowledged that people can not live without high-level technologies, such as availability of computers and so on. Obviously, supply chain which aims to provide high-volume, high-quality and stable products because of increasing demand from customers. Nowadays, customers who not just need right or high-quality products, they want to know “when the products will arrive”.
