have some general knowledge of fashion industry, design and history;
know about the he famous French fashion designer and the founder of the Chanel brand Coco Chanel;
talk about their viewpoints towards fashion, fashion design and how to dress properly;
master the key words and expression concerning fashion.
Part I Warm-up activities
A Directions: The garment produced by clothing manufacturers fall into three main categories: haute couture, ready-to-wear and mass market. Read the introductions of the three categories and decide which category the introduction is describing.
A: ready-to-wear B: mass market C: haute couture
B Directions: The following are some of the logos of the world’s well-known fashion brands. Match the logo with its fashion brand correspondingly. Discuss with your partner the following questions concerning fashion.
