Step Ⅰ Lead-in
Firstly, Use a teaching clock to teach students to say full hours, half hours and quarter hours, Make sure every student can say the clock times correctly.
Step Ⅱ Pair works
Students ask and answer questions about the time.
E.g. what time is it?
It’s eight-thirty. /It’s nineteen. /It’s seven-fifteen.
Then ask pairs of students to ask and answer questions about the time
Step Ⅲ Fast-reading
Read the passage and answer the questions
What time does Scott get up? (17:00)
What time does he go to work? (19:15)
What time does Scott get home? (7:00)
What time does he go to bed? (8:30)
Step Ⅳ Detailed-reading
Read the passage again, and list Scott’s activities
Then check the answers

Step Ⅴ Game
1. Divide students into groups of four and let them ask the other students when they usually go to bed. And line up from the earliest to the latest bedtime.
2. Let students tell their partners who is the first person to get up/go to work/go home in their family.
