Subjunctive Mood 一、条件状语从句 条件状语从句可分为真实条件句和虚拟条件句 真实条件句 If Lu Hsun ____ alive today,how happy he ______ be! If it _____ _(not be)raining,we ________(not stay) indoors now. What _____ you do supposing he ____ here now? 注意A： 错综时间条件句：（即：主从句不在同一时间段） eg. If it hadnt been for the party,we wouldnt live such a happy life today. If I were you ,I would have taken his advice If you ___________ the doctor’s advice,you would be quited all right now. If he had received six more votes,he___ (be) our chairman now. 注意B 当条件从句中有were,had或should等助动词时，可以省略if，从句用倒装形式。 eg： Were I in you position,I would go. Should I be free tomorrow,I could go with you. Had we made enough preparations,we might have succeeded. Had it not been for the reservoir,we’d never have been able to beat the drought. If I were to meet him tomorrow, I should ask him about it. If he should fail in the experiment this time, he would try again. Attention ：在虚似条件状语从句中，省略连词的倒装形式的句首不能用动词的缩略形式。 Were it not for the expense , I would go to Italy. Weren’t it for the expense, I would go to Italy. 注意C:从句的谓语由should加v 主句的谓语用真实语气，should 译为‘万一’ Ask her to ring me up if you should see her. Should I be free tomorrow,I will come. 注意D 含蓄条件句：（从句不是if引导的从句，而是用上下文或介词短语等表示相当与if从句） ?介词或介词短语：如but for(=without), without，otherwise,in that position eg: 1)But for your advice ,I couldnt have done it so successfully. 2)The change couldnt have taken place without the opendoor policy. 3)I was very busy yesterday,otherwise I would have helped you 4)She would have said no,but she was afraid 5.在if it were not for 或if it had not been for条件句中（常翻译为要不是） eg:If it had not been for your help,we couldnt have finished the work. (2)用于表示“坚持、安全、建议、要求”等后的宾语从 句（should +do） 一“坚持”insist 二“命令”order,command 三“建议”suggest,advise,propose, 四“要求”ask,demand,request,require 注意：suggest和insist 两词 suggest “建议” 时从句 谓语：（should） do “暗示”时从句谓语：正常 E.g I suggested that the work
