5 Pre-drilling Preparations 5.1 Well Location HSE Investigation Wells should be located away from public roads, railways, public works, houses or other public places. Safe distance needs to be considered so that the danger of drilling activities may be controlled. Sites close to overhead or underground power lines should also be avoided. They pose a threat to the safe operation of cranes and other equipment that can potentially come into contact with them. Before the rig move, a well location HSE investigation should be carried out to minimize or avoid detrimental effects on the surroun
