姓名：吕淑瑾 班级：N08商务英语方向3班 学号：200845639320 分数： A Comparative Study of cultures in Chinese and English Naming Customs 摘要 随着社会经济科学的发展，人类交流的逐渐加深，跨文化交际学已经成为一门重要的课程。语言是文化的载体，而姓名则是语言表达的一种形式。因此，姓名就成了透视一个国家文化的窗口。本文通过对比的方法研究汉英姓名的异同及其所反映的文化内涵。文中，笔者分析了英汉姓名不同的结构方式，英汉“姓”，“名”的相同点与差异性以及从中反映出的宗教思想，等级制度，性别差异，姓名崇拜等，概述了在跨文化交际中对姓名正确翻译的重要性和注意要点。汉英姓名及其文化内涵的对比研究有助于加强中西文化的交流，有助于我们进一步了解英语民族及其内在文化，有助于跨文化交际的顺利进行。? 关键字：姓名；文化内涵；文化差异 Abstract With the development of society, economic and science, communication among every country becomes deepening gradually, and cross-cultural communication is an important course now. Language is the carrier of culture, and personal name is a form of language. Therefore, people’s name has been a window to study a nation’s culture. The paper makes comparative studies on the similarities and differences in Chinese and English personal names and the cultural connotation. In this paper, the author analyze the different forms of Chinese and English names, differences and similarities of family names and given names, and these reveal the different cultural such as the ancestral idea, hierarchy, sex difference, worship of names. The author also summarizes the importance to translate personal names correctly in cross-cultural communication and important points. The compare between Chinese and English names helps us make a better understanding of English people and their culture, thus the intercultural communication can be more effective.
