I. Introduction Studies on the translator and criticisms of the translated texts, which constitute a component part of the ontological system of translation studies, are of great significance. The famous translator Zhuo Zhenying has obtained universal recognition in the academic circle for both his translation practice and his theoretical researches. His papers and works have enjoyed a high index of citations. Prof. Guo Zhuzhang points out that On the Key Issues in the English Translation of Chinese Verse written by Zhuo Zhenying is a breakthrough in the theoretical researches on translating Chinese poems（Guo Zhuzhang, 2004）. Hanhui of XinJiang Institute of Education has written an essay to verify the value of the theory developed by Zhuo. By analyzing three versions of The Voyage translated by Zhuo Zhenying, Xu Yuanchong and Yang Xianyi respectively, she comes to the conclusion that Zhuo’s theory in translating Chinese verse into English is feasible, which further testifies Prof. Liu Zhongde’s assessment that Zhuo’s theoretical framework is “original”, “scientific”, “systematic” and “practicable”, and that the multi-disciplinary methodology employed by Zhuo has proved to be workable (Zhuo Zhenying, 2003). Zhuo ranks with Xu Yuanzhong as one of path-breakers in the development of the verse translation theory of verse translation，and has made an entry into the column of famous translators on , which is co-sponsored by the National Bureau of News and Publication and the News Commission of the State Council. Theories are multifunctional. However, few translators have constructed theories of their own. By employing universally-accepted mother theories, Zhuo has established a theory with artistry.
