[Click – For 1st bullet.] In Phase 1, pressure to the patient is reduced to the P-start level. This can be set by the operator, but defaults to PEEP. The patient is allowed to fully exhale. [Click – For 2nd bullet.] Next, during Phase 2, pressure is slowly and linearly ramped up to the P-Top level. This level can be set by the operator, but defaults to a value set by P/V Tool 2. [Click – For 3rd bullet.] In Phase 3, pressure is held for the preset time period set by the operator or the default. [Click – For 4th bullet.] Finally, in Phase 4, the pressure is ramped down to the end PEEP. Again, this can be set by the operator, or it can be the P/V Tool default.
