Preliminary Remark初步评论 This document illustrates how to mesh the following intake port using the FAME Advanced Hybrid capability of the CFD Workflow Manager, setting up a steady calculation in the Solver GUI and how to view results using IMPRESS Post Processor. Additional task is the introduction to the Formula Editor, which is used for extended output. Problem Description问题描述 The development and optimization of engine components are time consuming and cost intensive tasks. An important step towards the development of combustion engines is the optimization of the flow in the intake ports. The charging movement in the combustion chamber, which is generated by the intake flow, considerably influences the quality of the combustion engine. The best procedure is to import CAD-data via the STL-interface and ensure that the CADdata are showing the same engine as the hardware used at the experimental test rig. At the valve and valve seat the edges have to be resolved accurately.
