It is only used when the board’s bootrom is broken and the board can’t start up. If the board is work well, and you should upgrade the bootrom, you can upgrade it by another method described in memo “upgrade the software of RNC V1 MKII”. Tools HARDWARE: You should have a universal programmer tool, here we use XELTEK’s SUPERPRO / L+. SOFTWARE: Download the software tool SUPERPRO / L+. You can get it at: \\\UMTS_ST\TestTools\xeltek.rar. The company’s page is : Download the latest bootrom software . The latest bootrom software is in the latest RNC software folder. For example, you can find it at: \\\UMTS_ST\Delivery\Official_R5\RNC\H0014\bootrom58withouth.bin Ready Uncompress the xeltek.rar package, double click the nspkw.exe, you have install the software on you computer. Connect the SUPERPRO / L+ with you pc. Take out the CMOS chip from the RNC board Work Put the CMOS chip in the programmer tool. PAY ATTENTION: Every chip has a indentation on the corner, make sure the indentation match the indentation on the programmer’s corner. There is hemicycle indication on the programmer, make sure the hemicycle indication matches the hemicycle indication on the programmer shell. Put the programmer in the shelf, make sure the pins form below to above. Turn on the power. Double click the “SUPERPRO LX(L+) For Win9x ME 2K NT or XP” icon on you desktop , then you can do you work. Select manufacturer and Device Name Select the menu : Device\ select Here we choose the manufacturer is “AMD” and the Device Name is “AM29LV040B” Read the information Select the menu: Device\Run We select “read”, then click “run”
