Group Assignment of Corporate Finance Mark: Contributing 50% of final mark Due date and time: Your class time in the last week of November 2011 Presentation on December 8, 2011 (the 13th week) Place: Hand in a hard copy of your assignment at the classroom. Word number limit: No more than 2,000 words. Your report must be typed. Language: English Aim: We have discussed in class on financial ratios (as followed) and their applications in financial analysis. This assignment provides you with an opportunity to apply these skills in practice. Requirements The whole class is separated into groups by free combination. Each group includes 4-6 persons Each group is required to prepare one research report on the financial situation of a selected company which is listed in Shanghai or Shenzhen stock market. The research report must include the following parts: 1.Abstract 2. Introduction to the company 3. Explanation on the financial ratios you will use in your analysis in your own words 4. Calculation of the financial ratios of the company in your study, and discussion by techniques of time-trend analysis and peer group analysis (you need to calculate the average level of industry if you do not have data available, by skill of sampling statistics). 5.
