新闻英语修辞及其翻译 一、隐喻 隐喻(metaphor)是一种比喻，是用一种事物暗喻另一种事物。 新闻英语中的隐喻主要表现在以下几个方面： （1）喻义推陈出新 the open barn door 敞开的粮仓大门（比喻美国科技情报容易获取） a ground war 地面战(比喻短兵相接的竞选对抗) (2)消除繁琐表达 隐喻能消除文体上唠叨繁琐的表达,创造妙语惊人的效果.
