Table manners are the embodiment of a countrys customs and culture. Chinas dinner table etiquette is well-established. With the deepening of reform and opening up, we must know about the dinner table etiquette of Western countries. This has a very important practical significance for us to understand the customs of the Western countries, to study the technological culture of the Western countries and to improve the communication between two sides. For many years, the comparative analysis of the dinner table etiquette and culture between China and Western countries has been studied by a large number of scholars. In Settles on Western Cultural Differences from the Dinner Table Etiquette, Wang Juan elaborates the seating arrangement, serving process as well as the table taboos of Chinese and the Western banquet. As early as Zhou Dynasty in China, the dinner etiquette developed a very sound system. Today, the dinner table etiquette of China requires the most important guest to sit on the most important seat and the elders take seats nearby the guests. What the owner must pay attention to is that the guests cannot sit close to the seat where food is served. The western countries regard taking a right seat as a principle. After the guests all take their seats, hosts start to propose toasts and offer food to guests.
