Many techniques were jointly developed by Texaco EPTD and Various Producing Divisions to make GRIDSTAT a practical and time-saving tool in the day to day operation of reservoir description. Valuable inputs were also taken from TPC personnel (Exxon, Amoco, and Norsk Hydro) and CPI personnel (Indonesia and Chevron). Using digitized logs, core data, or any spatial control data such as seismic attributes, GRIDSTAT can produce and visualize maps, variograms, cross sections, horizon markers, and 3D models. Grids can be exported to reservoir simulators (e.g. VIP, Eclipse, and Simbest ) and visualization software (e.g. SGM, EearthVision, VoxelGeo).
