Both Group A and B have individual managers and those managers reports to you. The manager of Group B complains to you that Group A is constantly affecting the effectiveness of Group B since it is always late with the financial figures that Group B needs to complete its monthly reports. Explain the problem using theories and concepts from Module 2 and identify some strategies you could take to try to resolve the problem.In one organization there are many different groups and they often interact with other. Inter-group dynamic are the dynamics that take place between groups, as opposed to within groups. The organization ideally operates as a cooperative system in which the various groups are willing and able to help one another as needed. However inter-group dynamics can be competitive as well as cooperative. In the case mentioned above, Group A and Group B are obviously in one organization, but their relationship can be greatly different by a variety of factors such as type of work flow interdependency, the group status or prestige, the reward system, the available resources and so on. According to the case, Group B can not do its job unless Group A provide it with the financial figures. This is sequential interdependency. In this situation, manager should deal well with the relationship between them and pay more attention to the natural of the task and the group size to make sure of effectiveness. So first of all manager should consider whether there are some problems in the organizational setting, the reward system, group size and the task. For example, one task can often be divided into different parts and need to take different time to solve it. If the work of Group A just has to take more time and there is also a shortage of employee in the group, it is obviously affects Group B. Then manager should change the group size and the task. Inter-group relationship can also be affected by the group status or prestige. If a lower-statute group must wait for the output
