With today’s available test solutions users will need to name files using limited keypads in the field thus loosing valuable time strugguling to name files correctly and most of the time ending renaming all files correclty once at the office. The second challenge womes from the fact that users may have to measure power levels at different locations which typically includes the Fiber Distribution Hub, Drop Terminal and the customer premise. With these realities in mind EXFO designed a simple but yet efficient software allowing to pre-configure file names from a PC prior to a test session allowing the user to benefit from a full fleged computer keyboard to pre-load the instrument with correct file names allowing to get in the field and start testing right away. Audio: Once in the field, Joe the PON Guy will thanks EXFO for designing a Job Editor mode, which eliminate guess work. When Joe the PON Guy is ready to activate a customer, he simply have to select the correct Job or OLT and ONT numbers and the correct location (Animation-1-2-3) and save the test results. The PPM-350Cs storage mode is adapted to PONs realities. Its file structure, includes customizable fields to tag OLT Id, ONT Id and even test locations.
