LTFS-SDE (Single Drive Edition) and LTFS-LE (Library Edition). With LTFS SDE, a tape drive will be used as a diskette drive. When you insert a tape cartridge into it, the OS will read the index first and mount the FS for you. Than you can list/read/write/copy/move/delete the files in this cartridge. IBM provide another version for enterprise: LTFS-Library Edition With LE, a tape library (not only a drive) will be used as a file system. When you start the LTFS-LE, the tape library will appear as a root directory, and each tape cartridges will be shown as a subdirectory.
