信息与通信工程学院 电子096 于川 指导老师：韩桂英 Abstract:In the modern science research，it’s very important to observe the frequency spectrum of signal and it’s helpfulfor the student to comprehend the signal character directly and in-depth in the experiment class.A simple frequency spectrum analyzer uses C8051 single chip processor and FPGA，as well as high speed A/D converters.The system includes signalacquisition，linear signal frequency shift，digital filtering，FFT and LCD display.The experimental results show the system analyzes signals with the bandwidth from 0MHz to 5MHz and the minimum resolution up to 1Hz.Besides，the chart of the signal frequency spectrum is well displayed on the LCD.The whole system works steadily and operates expediently and the system’s cost is much lower than others. Key words: C8051； frequency spectrum analyzer； FPGA； Fast Fourier Transform（FFT） 1.Introduction Nowdays as the spectrum analyzers in market are quite expensive , most of the colleges can’t afford to buy many for students’ experiments. So spectrum analyzers are mainly used for researchs. However, only to see the frequency spectrum in their textbooks is not enough for the college students. It’s urgent to have spectrum analyzers in their experiment class. Learn why spectrum analysis is important for a variety of applications and how to measure system and device performance using a spectrum analyzer. To introduce you to spectrum analyzers, the theory of operation will be discussed. In addition, the major components inside the analyzer and why they are important will be examined. Next, you will learn the spectrum analyzer specifications that are important for your application. Finally, features of aspectrum analyzer that make it more effective in making measurements will be introduced. This kind of spectrum analyzer we invented is quite simple and cheap, and it’s property index is enough for college experiments. 2.General Design The system’s general design is shown in Figure 1.
