Some of these are summarized in Figure1 below,…………… For example: 1 RESULTS Section one — Flocculation The flocculation of -20 μm quartz flour in the presence of ALAB or CATO232 was monitored by a photometric dispersion analyzer (PDA). As shown in Figure 4, both ALAB and CATO232 could flocculate quartz. Maximum degree of flocculation of the quartz was observed with about 2 ppm of ALAB. When the concentration exceeded 5 ppm, flocculation of quartz ceased. It thus seems that at a high concentration, ALAB worked as a dispersant. However, with CATO232, the strong flocculation of quartz only occurred at high dosages.
