The overall objectives of the Lebanon Oil Spill Rapid Assessment and Response Mission were as follow: conduct a preliminary assessment of oil spill extent / severity; advise Ministry of Environment (MoE) and others re: spill response; develop and implement a Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) programme; conduct media outreach on the spill. develop conceptual approach to claims / compensation All of the above five objectives were accomplished, thus the mission can be considered an overall success.
