ANCIENT ROME The expansion of the Roman Empire ROME Rome is a place with beautiful architecture and statues. It is located on the east side of Italy. Next to the Tiber river. The picture to the left is a colosseum in present day Rome. FIRST EXPANSION After Rome was defeated it rebuilt its boundary so it was very hard to invade. After that they conquered all of Italy. SECOND EXPANSION WAR1 The first Punic war was against Carthage. The Romans won this difficult fight. They conquered Sicily as well as other islands. Second Expansion War 2 Rome had a second Punic war against Carthage.
