外研版八年级上册教案 Module 8 Accidents Unit 2 I was trying to pick it up when it bit me again. (Reading) 南宁市第二十六中学 伍杏莉 Teaching Objectives: Ability Objectives: By the end of this lesson, the Ss will be able to: 1. Train their reading skills: Predicting the content; Reading for main idea; Reading for specific information. 2. Summarize the content of the text and retell it. 3. Appreciate the text and understand a little about British humor. Language Objectives: 1. Grasp the new words and 3 sentence structures: New words: bite-bit, climb, hide-hid, throw-threw, fridge, pain, bad-worse, medicine. Sentence structures: a. While the snake was lying on the table, Henry quickly picked up his mobile phone and took photo with it. b. When Henry was trying to find the snake, his hand began to hurt badly. c. As the doctors were checking him, the pain got worse. 2. Talk about accidents and know how to report them. Emotion Objectives: 1. Learn to stay calm when an accident happens. 2. Learn the importance of safety and some simple ways to save themselves. Teaching Difficulties: 1. Learn the new words and understand the text. 2. Summarize the text and use what they have learned to report the text. Teaching Important Points: 1. Deal with the new words and help Ss understand the text. 2. Use the new words and expressions to report the accident. Teaching Methods: Task-based approach, interactive approach Teaching aids: PPT, a blackboard, a chef’s hat Teaching Procedure: Step1: Warming-up: Greet the Ss, introduce myself, talk something about my pet cat and finally lead in the topic. Purpose: Lead Ss to talk about the cat, help Ss understand the new words in sentences and lead in the topic smoothly. Step2: Prediction: Ask the students to guess the content of the passage through the title and the picture. Purpose: A good guess helps better understand the text. Step3: Fast reading.
