The US lanched a military operation against Afghan and removed the Taliban regime. The Iraq War President Bush claimed that Iraq is axis of evil that threatened the US and was building weapons of mass destruction. In March 19 2003, the US with the forces from a few other countries invaded Iraq. Baghdad fell on April 14.They deposed and later executed its president, Sadam Hussein. Taking Iraq turned out to be far easier than administering it . Hit-and-run attacks on allied troops prevailed and became increasingly organized and violent.
