Perhaps there was a time when passive behavior was appropriate, but if so, that time has passed. Perhaps there was a time when it was possible to imagine that because a given library had everything that is patrons might need, it was acceptable to let patrons forage independently, functioning in a largely self-service mode. 或許有一段時間,被動行為是適當的,但是這個時間已經過去了。或許有一段時間可以想像,因為圖書館是給予一切讀者可能需要的所有事物,可以讓讀者獨立搜尋,主要在自助方式上。 Some patrons even thought they wanted it that way.
